Battle of the Gods Slot By Playtech
There are many favourite themes for online and even brick and mortar slot machines. One such theme is mythology of some sort. Greek mythology is especially popular as it really lends itself well to the slot world. Loads of characters and epic battles can be reflected on the reels by a savvy developer.
Playtech have taken the legendary battle between the Greek Gods and the Titans and created a five reel, twenty five optional payline online slot from it. Battle of the Gods can be played for only 0.01 coins per line, or as many as 50 coins per line. This ensures that players of all budgets can have a chance to spin the reels. Battle of the Gods can be played for both real and free money, although it is a good idea to ply the game for free money first to get the hang of the complicated special feature.
Battle of the Gods is a dark looking slot full of storm clouds and thunderbolts. Both the titan and the gods were known to use thunderbolts as a weapon, and this has been reflected not only in the reels but also the background of Battle of the Gods. The reels look to be set in a temple of some sort, with delicate stone carving around the edges. All player info is set out at the bottom of the reels on what looks like stone blocks. Battle of the Gods is a clean looking slot with well designed but not particularly 3D graphics. The music plays all the time and is suitably epic. Unique to the slot it consists of lots of crashing drums and what sounds like humming monks.
Gods Versus Titans
The whole concept behind Battle of the Gods is the fight between the gods and the titans. This has been shown in the different colours of the various characters as all of the symbols in Battle of the Gods are theme based, and are either gods or titans. The titans are browny orange and the gods are all blue. Each god has their opposing titan, and the pair is worth the same amount of coins for five of a kind. Kronos and a very young looking Zeus are the top paying normal symbols in the game, awarding you up to 1500 times your line bet. It is actually quite difficult to work out which god is who.
The special features include a wild symbol which looks like a pair of wings with flames behind it, and a temple scatter. The wild replaces all base symbols in the game, and is also the highest paying symbol for five of a kind on an active payline.
Temple Scatter Spins
Three or more of these anywhere on the reels will launch the free spins mode. During the free spins you back either the gods or the titans. At first you will always back the gods, but you will change to the titans later on.
The God’s mode will offer you an extra wild on reel three. During this mode the reels will be full of only the Gods, the Titans will be banned for the duration of the mode. The free spins continue indefinitely until the extra wild appears on reel three.
The Titan mode fills the reels with only Titans as well as an extra wild on reel three. Eight spins is all you get here, unless you land the extra wild in which case you get to go back to God mode.
